Jean Ann Rittenhouse, 67, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Kansas City, Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri. She was born September 10, 1942 in Pittsburg, Kansas, the daughter of Wayne Jones Sr and Delores Shafer Jones. She was a union welder and had the distinction of being the first woman hired by Kansas City Power and Light in the 1970's. She retired due to health reasons. She enjoyed being outdoors and fishing on the Marais DeCygne River. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include one son, Douglas Joseph of Pleasanton, Kansas; a daughter, Debbie McCallum and Robert of Pleasanton, Kansas; a step-son, Donnie Rittenhouse and Lynn of Florida; one brother, Wayne Jones Jr. & Cecelia, of Girard, Kansas; two grandchildren, Matthew and Calli McCallum; one great grandchild, Mattix Dean McCallum, three step-grandchildren, Tricia and Mitchell Copeland and Stephanie and Dustin Rittenhouse and two step great grandchildren, Faith and Colton Copeland, all of Florida; two nephews, Mike Jones and Esther and Mark Jones and one niece Joanna Bridgewater. Memorial graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, April 17, 2010 at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Mound City, Kansas. Contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society or Disabled American Veterans. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coffelschneider.com.
