JANET O'BRYANT Janet Loye O'Bryant, 78, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Menorah Medical Center, Overland Park, Kansas. She was born December 24, 1932 in Grove, Oklahoma, the daughter of Arthur Edward and Nada Harrison Mathia. She graduated from high school in Grove, Oklahoma in 1950. She married Richard O'Bryant on March 23, 1952. He preceded her in death June 16, 2002. Janet was employed as a bookkeeper for Kipper Chevrolet in Pleasanton until it closed in 1965 and later as a bookkeeper for RLC Construction Co. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Pleasanton where she served as Treasurer of UMW and a 50 year member of Order of Eastern Star. She also assisted with Meals on Wheels and loved gardening, especially her blackberries. She was preceded in death also by her parents; and three brothers, Otis, Ray and William Mathia. Survivors include three daughters, Vicki Marston & Bob of Coweta, Oklahoma; Ann Locke & Mark of Louisburg, Kansas and Tammy O'Bryant of Fort Scott, Kansas; one brother, Gene Mathia; and two sisters, Irene Bergman and Thelma Bennett; five grandchildren; Christopher Keeney & Sara Nixon; Lauren Robertson & Jason, Sarah Conklin & James, Rachel Locke and Matthew Locke; and two great grandchildren, Alex Sandoval and Kenzley Robertson. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the United Methodist Church, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM, Friday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton. Contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association. Interment will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery,.
