James Long

J.W. Long, age 61 of La Cygne, Kansas died Wednesday December 12, 2012. He was born on June 21, 1951at Kansas City Missouri the son of Clifford and Maybelle Lee Long. He married Norma Seacreas on June 14, 1976. J.W. worked as a truck driver for Frisco and Schock trucking companies. J.W. was a member of the Teamsters Local#41, ABATE, and the VFW Post #3712 in Paola, Kansas. J.W. was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Norma of the home, two sons: John Long, and Jay Long and wife Alana; two daughters: Lisa smith and La Donna Travison; three sisters: Myra Strachtemeyer, Marlane Lewis, and Maylinda Ray; and seven grandchildren: Jordan, Jason, Shelby Marie, Kevin, Leslie, Aubrey and Michael. Per J.W. wishes he was cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
