James Daniel

James Leroy Daniel, Mound City, Kansas passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012 at the Olathe Medical Center. He was born on March 13, 1941 at Mound City, Kansas the son of James and Alta Wakefield Daniel. He graduated from Pleasanton High School Class of 1959. He served his country in the United States Navy. Leroy worked for Kansas City Power and Light for thirty-three years before retiring in 2002. He then drove a truck until this last year. Leroy''s family, the western way of life, ranching, community involvement, and helping others is what brought him the most joy. He was involved at Benjamin Stables in Kansas City, a member of the Linn County Fair Board, American Legion, Hewitt-New Post, and the Elks. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step daughter, Colette. He is survived by his wife Barbara of the home, two daughters: Holly Woods(Dwayne Holt), Lori Bruns(Jim), stepson Dwight Terry(Sabrina), step daughter Lizz Nation(Mike),a brother Merl Daniel(Joyce Robey), fourteen grandchildren: Evan, Garrett, Austin, Addie, Levi, Brett, Chad, Aubry, Shaylee, Blaiton, Jamee, Zachary, Emmah and Olivia, and a niece Christina. Funeral Service 11 AM Thursday, November 29, 2012 at the Linn County 4H Building. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Burial will be in the Curry Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Linn County Fair or Sharing Bucket, c/o Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box J, Mound City, Kansas 66056.
