James Burk

James "Jim" Burk, age 45, of Chanute, Kansas passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. He was born on February 3, 1969 at Lawton, Oklahoma the son of James and Cerita Solomon Burk. He was preceded in death by his maternal great grandmother, Martha Nelson, maternal grandfather, John Solomon, paternal grandparents, Neil and Lois Burk, and an infant granddaughter, Alexis Muniz. Jim was married to Stacey McGee at Eureka Springs, Arkansas on April 3, 2004. He loved racing lawn mowers and even more his family. He owned and operated Home Town Small Engine Repair and was a member of the AHLMRA. He is survived by his wife Stacey, son John Burk, daughters: Jacqueline "Burnice" Burk and fiance, Travis Booe, Sami Muniz and husband Arturo Muniz, Jessica, Nicole and Elizabeth Burk, father J.D. Burk, mother, Cerita Miller, brothers: Charlie, Jamsie and Jayson Burk, sisters, Candace Le-Jeune and husband Matthew, and Becky Johnson and husband George, grandchildren: Clifford Goss III, Katie Goss, Alain Goss, Gabriel Muniz and a grandson, Alexander James Muniz to arrive shortly. Funeral service will be 11 AM Saturday March 8, 2014 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. Burial will be in the East Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 6 to 8 PM at the Living Word Assembly, Chanute, Kansas. The family suggests contributions to the Jim Burk Children''s Fund.
