HELEN HEDGES Helen Marie Hedges, 84, of the Trading Post, Kansas area, died Sunday, February 18, 2007 at Prescott Country View Nursing Home, Prescott, Kansas. She was born February 12, 1923 in Cass County, Missouri, the daughter of George and Stella Cauthorn Osborn. On May 3, 1948, she married Leroy Hedges. He preceded her in death on May 20, 2001. Helen worked for Braemoor Sewing, Osage Pecan and also Wal-Mart prior to her retirement. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Pleasanton, Kansas and the Garment Workers Union. She was preceded in death also by a son, Cliff Hedges, one brother, Virgil Osborn and two sisters, Dorothy Brewer and Florence Osborn. Survivors include four sons, Willard Hedges & Linda of Eldorado, Kansas, Steve Hedges & Sharon of Pleasanton, Kansas, David Hedges of Pittsburg, Kansas and Robert Hedges & Lori of Ottawa, Kansas; one brother, George Osborn of Blue Mound, Kansas and two sisters, Faye Beebe of Adrian, Missouri and Rosa Lee Holland of Butler, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:00 PM, Tuesday at the chapel. The family suggests contributions to the American Heart or American Lung Association. Interment will be in the Trading Post Cemetery, Trading Post, Kansas.
