Hazel Grigsby

Hazel Holmes Grigsby was born May 18, 1912 on the family farm at Prescott, KS to Arthur and Florence McLaughlin Holmes. Hazel passed away on Monday December 9, 2013 at the age of 101. She was raised on the family farm, received her education in the Prescott area and was married in Prescott to Ellsworth Grigsby. They farmed and raised their family in the Prescott area. She is survived by her sons Art Grigsby and wife Addie of Prescott, Edd Grigsby and wife Carmen of Bartlesville, OK and Stan Grigsby and wife Donna of Iola, KS, daughter-in-law Doris Grigsby of Tahlequah, OK, a brother Floyd Holmes of Grove, OK, a sister Florine O''Rourke of Pleasanton, KS, 10 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister Mildred Holmes, brothers Ned and John Holmes and one son Everett Grigsby. Services are planned for Tuesday December 17, 2014, at 1:30 in the Prescott United Methodist Church followed by burial in the Prescott Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Monday December 16, 2014, at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Prescott United Methodist Church where she was an active life long member, c/o Hal Bradley 4010 Thomas Rd, Prescott, Ks 66767.
