Harold Millsap

Harold Millsap, age 88 of Mound City passed away Wednedsay, August 27, 2008, at Fort Scott Manor, Fort Scott, Kansas. Harold was born September 23, 1919 to parents James Raymond and Doris Millsap in the Centerville township. Harold graduated from Mound City High School in 1936 and married Gladys Juanita Demott in 1944. That union produced three sons. Harold was a farmer and stockman until 1958 when he moved his family to California. However, after several years he returned to Linn County and took up raising South Devon cattle with his second wife, Irma who preceeded him in death in 2000. Harold was a member of the Federated Church of Mound City. Survivors include sons James Robert Millsap (wife Sandra), Lakewood, CA; John Harold Millsap (wife Jackie), Tujunga, CA and Jerome Lee Millsap, Cypress, CA; Gladys Millsap, Artesia, CA and sister, Margaret Blankenship, Kona, Hawaii; 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 nephews and 1 niece. A remembrance visitation will be held Sunday, September 21, 2008 between the hours of 2 and 4PM at Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, Mound City. Private internment will take place at Wesley Chapel cemetry. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Mound City Federated Church are suggested.
