Gordon Haggard

Gordon Richard Haggard, age 84, of Linn Valley, Kansas died Friday March 22, 2013 at the Hoeger House in Olathe, Kansas. He was born on April 13, 1928 at Kansas City, Kansas the son of Harwood and Elizabeth Hill Haggard. Gordon was a veteran serving his country with the United States Army during WWII. He married Virginia Dillman on June 23, 1951 at Kansas City, Kansas; she preceded him on May 23, 2003. He then married Betty Varner on February 12, 2006 at the Methodist Church in Drexel, Missouri. Gordon worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #315. He enjoyed fishing and golfing. Gordon was also preceded in death by a sister Nadine Clary. Survivors include his wife Betty; a son Ray Haggard; two daughters Teresa Stracke, and Rita Higley; a step daughter Linda Evans; six grand children; and eight great grandchildren. A memorial graveside service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday April 13, 2013 at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Mound CIty, Kansas.
