Glenn Alonzo Turpen, 59, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at St. Luke's Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri. He was born February 18, 1949 in Yakima, Washington, the son of Alonzo and Ruby McBride Turpen. He married Cathy Cutler on April 16, 1971 in Kansas City, Kansas. Glenn was employed as a sheet metal worker. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local #2 of Kansas City, Missouri and a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mound City, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Alonzo Turpen. Survivors include his wife, Cathy of Pleasanton, Kansas; his mother, Ruby Turpen of Pleasanton, Kansas; two sons, Eric Turpen & Melanie and Aaron Turpen, all of Pleasanton, Kansas ; one daughter, Megan Cross & John of Grandview, Missouri and two brothers, Jim and Bob Turpen, both of Neosho, Missouri and one granddaughter, Manon Turpen. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 22, 2008 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time.
