Gladys Burrous

Gladys Rose Burrous, 85, Nevada, MO passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2011, at her residence. She was born May 25, 1926 in La Cygne, KS to Samuel Terry and Bertha Kirkendall Terry. She was married to Arvil Leroy Burrous, and he preceded her in death January of 1979. Mrs. Burrous was raised in La Cygne, KS. She had lived most of her in Linn County, KS until coming to Nevada, MO where she had lived for the past 15 years. Survivors include four children, Linda Switlik and her husband James, Nevada, MO, Howard Burrous and his wife Darlene, Tifton, GA, Terry Burrous, Adrian, MO, and Verna Devine, Rich Hill, MO; four grandchildren, Luke Burrous, Ashley Burrous, Sara Spangler, and Travis Spangler; two great-grandchildren, Cash, and Serenity; numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Spouse, two sisters, and two brothers. The family will receive friends at Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, MO Wednesday morning, September 21, 2011, between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in La Cygne, KS with Steve Knoll officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 PM until service time at the chapel. Interment will follow at Jingo Cemetery in La Cygne. Contributions may be made, in her memory, to Heartland Hospice in Butler, MO in care of Ferry Funeral Home.
