Gerry Hammons

October 8, 1946 — April 14, 2018

On Saturday, April 14, 2018, our sister in Christ, Gerry Fern Robbins Hammons, went home to her Heavenly Father. Gerry was born in Moran, Kansas on October 8, 1946. Gerry grew up on a farm northwest of Gardner, KS. graduating in 1964 from Pleasanton High School. Gerry lived for over 30 years in Kirksville, Missouri. For the past several years she has resided at the Country View Nursing Home in Prescott, Kansas. Her parents, now deceased, are Jay Robbins and Gloria Steele Robbins Anderson both from Linn County, Kansas. Gerry was married to John Hammons of Kirksville, Missouri, who preceded her in death. She has two adult children; Kenneth Thompson and Lucinda Hammons. Also, preceding her in death was her youngest brother, John H. Anderson of Gardner, Kansas. Surviving brothers are Larry Robbins from O'Fallon, Missouri and Alan Robbins from Shawnee, Kansas. Surviving sisters are Irma Robbins Thompson of Parker, Kansas and Londa Robbins of New Mexico. Gerry was an active member of the Kirksville Alcoholics Anonymous for 30 years. Gerry gave her heart and soul over to our Lord Jesus Christ. Gerry was currently being counseled by Pastor Cary Coffey of the Pleasanton Assembly of God. Cremation will be conducted and no services will be held. Donations may be sent to the Pleasanton Assembly of God or the Kirksville Alcoholics Anonymous. Arrangements: Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.
