GERALD BOGAN Gerald Dean Bogan 68, of Hume, Missouri died Thursday, October 8, 2009 at his home. He was born May 28, 1941 at Hume, Missouri, the son of Carl and Novella Boston Bogan. Gerald was raised in the Hume & Metz area. After the 8th grade he worked for his great uncle in Leavenworth, Kansas. At 19 years of age, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 1960 to 1963. He was stationed in France and later in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. He married Sharon Kay Swink on November 12, 1966. He worked for General Motors Leads plant in Kansas City, Missouri for eleven years and then entered the Boiler Makers Local 83 in Kansas City for twenty five years. He was a member of the Butler Masonic Lodge #254. His love was farming and his family and friends. Gerald was preceded in death by his father and also an infant son, Bret Loy Bogan. Survivors include his wife, Sharon of the home; his mother, Novella Bogan Finwick of Hume, Missouri; one son, Tim Bogan & Sherry of Springdale, Arkansas; daughters, Meda Wisdom & Harry of Mound City, Kansas; Sherri Crane & Charles "Reb" of Hume, Missouri; one brother, Larry Bogan & Harriet of Prescott, Kansas; sisters, Joyce Cannon & Marion of Hume, Missouri and Janice Koehn & Ronnie of Adrian, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday October 12, 2009 at the Hume Christian Church, Hume, Missouri. Visitation will be from 2-4 PM, Sunday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Hume, Missouri.
