George H. Ashworth, age 83, of Parker, Kansas died Thursday June 24, 2010 at the Manor Care in Overland Park, Kansas. He was born on August 20, 1926 at Callaway, Virginia the son of George E. and Dorinda Bowman Ashworth. He was an Army Veteran of World War II from 1944 to 1946. He was united in marriage to Armella Richmeier on December 31, 1949 at St Peter, Kansas. To this union, six children were born. He worked as a diesel mechanic before retirement. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus St Philippine Council #7446. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Eva Bohn, and Nellie Sowyer and two brothers, Denton Ashworth and Howard "Shorty" Ashworth. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Armella; five daughters: Patricia Borst and Ron, Kathryn Rhoads and Hal, Sandra Vielhauer and Pete, Sherry Graham and Ted, Mary Ellen Bramhall and Chris; a son Daniel Ashworth and Willa; fifteen grand and fifteen great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM Monday June 28, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Mound City, Kansas. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 6 PM Sunday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Mound City followed by visitation until 8 PM.
