Gary Ogan Sr.

Gary Dean Ogan Sr., age 66 of Mapleton, Kansas, died Friday August 23, 2013 at his home. He was born on November 5, 1946 at La Cygne, Kansas the son of Herschell and Opal Shonk Ogan. Gary married Norma Jackson on December 10, 1973 at Paola, Kansas. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline. He was a member of the OCAW union, enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, telling stories especially with his brother in-law David Kline Sr., and loved spending time with his family especially his grandkids. Gary was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Norma of the home; two sons: Gary Ogan Jr. and wife Lisa of Beagle, Kansas, and Mike Ogan of Walnut Cove North Carolina; two daughters Dee Dee Stiles and husband Scott of La Cygne, and Paula Schulz and husband Beau of Princeton, Kansas, nine grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday August 26, 2013 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory La Cygne chapel. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to Service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery in La Cygne, Kansas.
