Gary Francis Coffman Jr. "Chip", age 51, Pleasanton, Kansas passed away Sunday April 7, 2013. He was born on January 15, 1962 at Steubenville, Ohio the son of Gary Francis Coffman and Mary Beth Grigsby Coffman. He graduated from Jayhawk Linn High School in the Class of 1980. He attended Fort Scott Community College where he earned an Associate's Degree. He married Sherri Cox on August 2, 1986 at the Pleasanton Christian Church. Together they were the proud parents of three sons: Gannon Gary Francis III, Mason Waldon and Preston Chance. They all survive of the home. Chip loved his family and devoted much of his time to their many different academic and extra curricular activities. Chip was a former member of the Painters Union, owned Prescott Autoworx, then Coffman Auto and was currently running Coffman Cattle Company. He was a member of the Prescott Baptist Church and had served as mayor of Prescott. Chip enjoyed spending time at Sugar Valley Lakes with his family and friends golfing, boating and skiing. He is procededed in death by Waldon Cox, father in law. Chip is survived by his mother, Mary Beth Fornelli and Tony, his father Gary Coffman and Mary, brother Douglas Coffman (Cheryl) their children Holley and Carter: sister Monta Bode (Steve) their children: Bailey, Sabrina, Jillian and Parker; step brother, Tony Fornelli (Rachel) their son Lucas; step sister Felicia Adams (Dean) their children, Mariah, Amber and Jared; step sister Lona Grosshart, and mother in law Joan Cox, and many other very close in laws Funeral service will be held 10 AM Thursday April 11, 2013 at the Pleasanton High School, Pleasanton Kansas. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday at the Chapel. The family suggests contributions to Coffman Children Education Fund. Arrangements: Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel.
