Gary Carnell

Gary Gilbert Carnell, 68, of the Sugar Valley Community, near Mound City, Kansas, died Monday, January 26, 2009 at his home. He was born June 28, 1940 in Webster City, Iowa the son of Walter and Irene Busick Carnell. Gary's father died at an early age and he was raised by his step-father, Gilbert Wilson. He married Oleva Brogdon on May 2, 1959 at the Monticello United Methodist Church. He was a veteran, having served his country with the United States Air Force. Gary was employed with Smith & Loveless as maintenance supervisor. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Anderson. Survivors include his wife, Oleva of the home; one son, David Alan Carnell and three daughters, Pamela Foxworth & Tim, Lisa Jones and Jerry and Sheila Carnell, twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 29, 2009 at the Fontana Cemetery, Fontana, Kansas. Contributions are suggested to the Gary Carnell Memorial Fund.
