Galen Slifer

Galen LeRoy Slifer, age 78, of Salem, Missouri died Tuesday July 16, 2013 at the Salem Care center. He was born on April 15, 1935 in Grundy Center, Iowa, the son Clarence and Leona Ruth Willard Slifer. Galen received his a Bachelors degree from McPherson College in 1956, he went on to receive a M L S form the University of Oklahoma in 1971, and a M A R S from Central Seminary in 1987. Galen worked as a Librarian for several Schools and University's through out Kansas and Iowa, and later as a clown for a variety of different events. Galen loved anything to with Music and going to Church. Galen was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include two daughters; Gaye Pligrim and Ann Balk, and several grandchildren.
