Freeda Brady

Freeda Belle Brady, age 88, Osawatomie, Kansas, formerly of La Cygne, Kansas passed away Wednesday January 18, 2023.  She was born in Bourbon County, Kansas on January 22, 1934 the daughter of Guy and Cloma Ohara Commons.  She graduated from Fort Scott High School.  Freeda was united in marriage to Bernard "Barney" Brady on April 6, 1952 in Fort Scott.  He preceded her in death on July 29, 2018.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Brady, and a brother, Clyde Commons.  She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Altar Society.  She volunteered in the Meals on Wheels program.  She and Barney enjoyed traveling all over the United States in their fifth wheel camper trailer.  In her younger days, she was an avid bowler.  Freeda is survived by two sons, Bernard Brady Jr., and Patrick Brady, three daughters, Kathy Reed, Rose Snider, and Karen Coats, a sister, Arlene Boswell, thirteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Monday, January 23, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in La Cygne, Kansas.  Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Mound City, Kansas.  The Rosary will be prayed at 3 pm Sunday, January 22 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.
