Edward John

Edward R. "Ed" St.John, age 74, Sugar Valley Lakes, near Mound City, Kansas passed away on Monday, May 11, 2015. He was born on January 12, 1941 at Greenup, Illinois the son of Alvin and Edna St.John. Before he retired he worked as a tank installer and later in the construction industry. He married Karen Smith in November of 1992. Ed would go out of his way to lend a helping hand to anyone. He enjoyed being outdoors and gardening. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Brent St.John and one brother, Robert St.John. He is survived by his wife, Karen, son, Brad St.John, daughter, Nickie St. John, brothers, Richard and Jerry St. John, sisters, Carol Smith and Shirley Rice, three grand and three step grandchildren. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to service time. The family suggests contributions to the Diabetes Foundation or American Cancer Society.
