Edna Marie Ross age 78, of Fort Scott, Kansas formerly of Pleasanton, Kansas died Sunday June 5, 2011 at the Fort Scott Manor Nursing Home in Fort Scott, Kansas. She was born on December 2, 1932 at Farlinville, Kansas the daughter of Frank and Nellie Ann Johnson Clearwater. She married Vaughn Ross on August 24, 1948 at Farlinville, Kansas he preceded her in death on February 26, 1985. Edna had many jobs she worked for the Torneden-Coffel Funeral Home, the grocery store, Linn County Clerk's Office, the City of Pleasanton, and Pleasanton Family Practice. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pleasanton. Edna was also preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Glen Clearwater, and a sister, Mary Hughes. She is survived by a son, Randy Ross of Butler, Missouri, three daughters; Voneta Davidson of Pleasanton, Kansas, Shelly Walrod of Cherokee, Kansas, and Melanie Quinn of Frontenac, Kansas, a brother Fred Clearwater of LaCygne, Kansas, two sisters; Thelma Sherman of Drexel, Missouri, and Dorothy Coffeen, of Mound City, Kansas, eleven grandchildren, and twenty three great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday June 8, 2011 at the First Baptist Church Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Tuesday June 7, 2011 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home Pleasanton, Kansas. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery in Mound City, Kansas. The family suggests contributions to the First Baptist Church Mission Fund. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.coffelschneider.com.
