Edith Louise McMillan, 86, of Pleasanton, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at Prescott Countryveiw Nursing Home, Prescott, Kansas. She was born November 20, 1925 in Pleasanton, Kansas, the daughter of William J. and Rubie Bruce Saunders. Edith worked as a teacher in rural western Kansas schools and was a substitute teacher in Tripoli, Libya, when they lived there. She had the opportunity to live all over the world for 23 years, making each home a wonderful place for her family. Edith was an artist, a member of PEO and Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She was a graduate of Baker University. She was preceded in death by her parents; and three sisters, Sylvia Woodburn, Ruth Waring and Wilma Mullies. Survivors include her husband, L.S. (Mac) McMillan of Pleasanton, Kansas; two sons, Dan McMillan and Karen of Marshfield, Missouri and Tim McMillan and Jill, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; and her daughter, Susie Green and Glenn of LaCygne, Kansas; one sister, Pauline Armstrong of Louisburg, Kansas; her grandchildren, Blayne Green, Chris McMillan, Paul McMillan, Bryan McMillan, Bryce Green, Lauren McMillan and John Green. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Schneider Funeral Home, Pleasanton Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Thursday at the chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Prescott Countryview Nursing Home. Interment will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery.
