Earl Self

Earl Edward Self, age 86, Mound City, Kansas died Monday March 14, 2011 at his Farlinville home. He was born on November 26, 1924 at Farlinville, Kansas the son of James and Celia Jackman Self. He attended the Farlinville School. He was a farmer and stockman. Earl married Daisy Pearson on August 18, 1945 at Paola, Kansas. To this union, four children were born: Edward Self and Carmen of Mound City, Kansas, Charles Self and Diana of Parker, Kansas, Mary Simpson and Gary of Mound City, Kansas and Barbara Morris who preceded him in death. Barbara's husband Fred also survives along with nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a twin brother Merle, an infant brother and a sister Mary Phillips. Funeral service will be held at 10 AM Saturday March 19, 2011 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in Mound City, Kansas. Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7 PM Friday at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel.
