Dorothy Lorene Klopfenstein, age 94 of Mound City, Kansas died Friday April 8, 2011 at The Residencies at Pleasanton, Kansas. She was born on June 6, 1916 at Mildred, Kansas the daughter of Moreland McClure and Jessie McGinnis Mc Adam. Dorothy Married Harry Ward on September 23, 1936 to this union two children were born Carl Dean Ward and Linda Kay Klee, he preceded her in death on September 30, 1950. She then married Glenn Klopfenstein on September 20, 1951 in Mound City Kansas; he preceded her in death on August 19, 1983. Dorothy was the Linn Country Register of Deeds, as well as being a homemaker. She was a member of the Brethren Church of Mulvane, Kansas. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and crocheting. Also preceding her in death were her parents a sister; Pauline McAdam, and a granddaughter; Carrie Lynn Klee. Survivors include three sons; Carl Dean Ward and wife Irma of Lawrence, Kansas, Richard Klopfenstein of Mound City, and Douglas Klopfenstein of Bremerton, Washington, two daughters; Linda Kay Klee and Carol Klopfenstein of Mound City, seven grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday April 12, 2011 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home Mound City, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Monday April 11, 2011 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery Mound City, Kansas.
