Donald Leroy Stainbrook, age 73 of LaCygne, Kansas died Sunday August 1, 2010 at the Kansas City Hospice House at Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on January 16, 1937, in the same house he lived in at the time of his death at LaCygne, the son of Charles Fredrick and Ruth Earline Stevens Stainbrook. He married Delores Kay Mosler on November 24, 1956, at LaCygne. Donald was a farm and ranch owner and operator. He was baptized at the LaCygne Christian Church in 1957. He was Grand Nobel for the I.O.O. F for a number of years, a board member for the rural water district #3, board member for the Linn County COOP and a member of the Cadmus 4H club. Donald had received several awards throughout his life including the FHA Farm Family of the year on March 14, 1973, Kansas Bankers Award on February 5, 1775, Linn County Continuing Soil Conservationist Award from 1974 to 2000, and the Farm Bureau Century Farm Award for being owned and operated by the Stainbrook family for over a hundred years, he being the fifth generation. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers; Daniel, Charles, and Kenneth Stainbrook, a sister Mary Ellen Noel, one sister in-law Fontella Stainbrook and a niece Tammy Noel. He is survived by his loving wife, Delores, of over 53 years, three daughters; Karen Martin and husband Paul, Diane Mathia and husband Daniel of Louisburg, Kansas, and Lauri Beckman and husband Richard of Louisburg, Kansas, three brothers; Wilbur and wife Ruth Ellen, Robert and wife Wilma, and James and wife Marjorie Stainbrook, two sisters, Donna Good and husband William and Marlyn Masoner and husband Thomas, six, grandchildren; Shawna Dyer and husband Raymond, Heather Halliburton and husband Jason, Richelle Beckman, Brooke Mathia, Laurissa Beckman, and Derek Mathia, two great grandchildren; Hayden and Micayla Dyer, mother in-law Lillian Mosler, a brother in-law Frankie Noel and wife Dottie, two sister in-laws Virginia Stainbrook and Audrey Remler, and a host of other family members. Services for Donald Stainbrook will be held at 10:00 am Thursday August 5, 2010 at the Calvary Baptist Church LaCygne, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 Wednesday August 4, 2010 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home LaCygne Kansas. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery LaCygne, Kansas.
