Donald Pease

Donald M. Pease, 69, of Linn Valley, Kansas, passed away Friday, July 15, 2005 at his home. He was born February 3, 1936 in LaCygne, Kansas, the son of Glenn Pease and Alice Lee Pease. He attended Kansas State University earning a BS in Industrial Engineering and then attended graduate school in Chicago while working for Western Electric. He served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict in a Labor Camp in Germany. He married Susan Ross on June 15, 1957 at the Methodist church in LaCygne, Kansas. Since 1972, he was the owner and President/CEO of the Linn County Bank in LaCygne, retiring on January 1, 2000. During his years as a banker, he was an aggressive banker opening additional facilites in Pleasanton, Kansas and Lenexa,Kansas. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and for many years served as Chairman of the Finance Committee. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #61, Mirza Temple, Pittsburg, Kansas, Scottish Rite Consistory in Fort Scott, Kansas and served on the LaCygne Medical Board, the Senior Housing Board and was Vice President of the Southeast Kansas Bankers Association. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Susan Pease of the home; two daughters, Danna Pease of Linn Valley, and Donna Sue Foreman and husband, Patrick of LaCygne, Kansas; a brother, Harold Pease of Linn Valley, Kansas; three sisters, Nadine Fritts Kenney, Ruth Anne Potts and Mary Kathryn Nicholson; three grandchildren, Daniel Peterson, Donielle Foreman and Dalinda Foreman and two nieces, Brandy Kalinka and Krisin Ross, that he treated and loved as his own. He was a patient, warm and quiet individual who will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Kenneth Lee Pease and a sister, Lorene E. Allee. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 18, 2005 at the United Methodist Church, LaCygne, Kansas. Cremation following the funeral service. Memorial contributions can be made to the United Methodist Church, LaCygne, Kansas or Shriner's Children's Hospital.
