Diane Vanwinkle

Rhonda Diane Vanwinkle, age 62, La Cygne, Kansas passed away Saturday, September 28, 2024.  She was born on October 9, 1961 in Paola, Kansas the daughter of Joe and Dorothy Funk Turpen.  She graduated from high school and received an associate's degree as well. She was united in marriage to Robert Vanwinkle who preceded her in death December 1, 2023.  She ran a daycare for many years and later was a paraprofessional in the Prairie View School District.  She was a member of the La Cygne Christian Church.  Her love for children, drew her to teach Sunday School to numerous children.  She was an avid reader, worked crossword puzzles, liked to dance, and didn't miss her favorite television shows.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, LeRoy and Joe Junior Turpen.  Diane is survived by two sisters, Linda Brumback and Kay DeMott, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  

A private family graveside service will be held.  A Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 4 pm Saturday, October 26, 2024 in the Swan Room at the La Cygne Library.  Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kidney Foundation.  Online condolences can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com.
