Dennie Rae Gould, age 72, of rural Blue Mound, Kansas, was born near Lowry City, Missouri on January 17, 1940 to Ray Randall and Agnes Sutterby Randall. She passed at the Kansas City Hospice Center on June 30, 2012. Dennie Rae graduated from Blue Mound High School in 1957. She attended Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas for one year, whereupon, she joined the United States Air Force, serving until 1962, when she entered the nursing program at Stormont - Vail Hospital in Topeka. Upon graduation with her nursing degree, Dennie Rae re-entered the service of her country, being honorably discharged from the United States Air Force as a Captain, in 1971. Dennie Rae served a one year tour at Cam Ranh Bay in the Republic of South Vietnam as a nurse, treating wounded soldiers. After her discharge from the Air Force, she married Gerald Gould. They raised Morgan horses on their ranch, the D Bar J Ranch, near Blue Mound, Kansas. Dennie continued her nursing career, working at several hospitals and medical facilities in the area. Dennie Rae was an avid breeder of Morgan horses, and showed her Morgans at numerous horse shows throughout the Mid-West. She was a member of the American Morgan Horse Association; the American Legion; and member of the Mound City First Baptist Church. Dennie Rae was proceeded in death by her first husband, Ronald Bigelow,and her parents. She is survived by her brothers, Charles R. Randall and wife, Dorothy, and Jesse T. Randall and wife, Janice, all of Mound City; nephews Charles R. Randall III of Mound City, Joshua Randall of Fredricksburg, Virginia, Jeremiah Randall of Sarasota, Florida, and niece, Anna Murray of Pittsburg, Kansas. Also, surviving are eight grand nieces and one grand nephew. Dennie Rae's generosity and friendship will be missed by her family and friends.
