They helped purchase the Cantwell family farm in the Fairmount area and spent many happy hours there. When Roy retired in 1989, they bought a house and moved to Pleasanton. Delyte was a member of the Baptist Church in Independence, then the Christian Church in Pleasanton. She spent many hours working in both, with the ladies group, Bible schools, teenagers, and wherever she was needed. They adopted a son, February 1957, Thomas Cantwell and were foster parents to Mike Leggatt and Sydney Morgan. Delyte worked in the P.T.A., and Cub and Boy Scouts. She volunteered at the Harry S. Truman Home as a hostess, senior citizens, Meals on Wheels, Trading Post and Linn County Museum.
