Della Leonard

Della Mae Leonard, 75, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Longview, Texas. She was born July 20, 1931 at Trading Post, Kansas, the daughter of Charles "Poppy" Purdy and Leola Masters Purdy. She was a graduate of Pleasanton High School and worked as a cook for several restaurants. She married Donald Yager in 1950. He preceded her in death in 1973. She then married Charles "Buck" Leonard in 1977 and he preceded her in 1978. Della enjoyed going to the casinos, spending time with her grandchildren and playing Bingo with the great grandchildren. She was preceded in death also by her parents, one son, John Randy Yager; seven brothers, Frank, Cleo, Tommy, Ted, Edward, Johnny and Bunk Purdy; one sister, Ruby and a grandson, Tim Yager. Survivors include one son, Bob Yager & Judy of Parsons, Kansas; one daughter, Karon Morris and Bubba of Diana, Texas; one brother, Bob Purdy of Mound City, Kansas; two sisters, Leola Huntsman of Topeka, Kansas and Helen "Tootie" Barnett of California; four grandchildren, Donnie Swain, Penny Holcomb, Tracy Howard and Amy Turman and eleven great grandchildren Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, January 5, 2007 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 6:30-8:00 PM, Thursday at the Chapel. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, Mound City, Kansas. Arrangements: Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, Pleasanton, Kansas.
