Daune Miller

June 17, 1927 — December 24, 2013

Daune Eugene Miller, age 86, Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on Tuesday December 24, 2013. He was born in Miami County, Kansas on June 17, 1927 the son of George and Lena Ellsworth Miller. Lena died while Daune was very young. His father later remarried and Daune was raised by his new mother Pearl. He graduated from LaCygne High School in 1945. He married Romalea Good on April 4, 1948 at Amsterdam, Missouri. He was a veteran proudly serving his country in the Navy Sea Bees. He was a dairyman for many years. He then raised beef cows and finished his working career working on the Linn County road crew. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Fern Rader, Lola Jones, and a grandson, Brian Cobb. He was a member of the Pleasanton United Methodist Church and a previous trustee. He was also a member of the VFW, and Masonic Lodge at LaCygne, Kansas. He is survived by his wife Romalea of Pleasanton, two sons, Richard Miller and wife Karon of Pleasanton, Stephen Miller and wife Connie of Omaha, Nebraska, daughter Debra Cobb and husband Mike of Jackson, Missouri, brother Kenneth Miller of New Lancaster, Kansas, sister Beulah Baker of Minnesota, six grand and six great grandchildren and one more expected any time. Funeral service will be held at 2:30 Saturday December 28, 2013 at the Pleasanton United Methodist Church. Burial in the Trading Post Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5 to 6:30 PM Friday at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. The family suggests contributions to the Pleasanton United Methodist Church.
