Danny Russell

Danny G. Russell, 59, Mound City, Kansas, formerly of Kansas City, MO passed away Thursday, November 5, 2009 at Kansas City Hospice House after a brief battle with cancer. Danny was born October 19, 1950 in Kansas City, MO. He retired from the Kansas City main post office in 2001 when he moved to Mound City. Danny was an Army veteran and served in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his father, Malcom G. Russell in 1985, and a half-sister, Helen Payne in 1996. He is survived by his mother, Edna M. Russell, Prescott, KS, his sister, Virginia Hall and her husband, Joe, Mound City, KS, his nephew, Michael McMillan, St. Joseph, MO, great nephew, Joseph McMillan, Raytown, MO, and his two dogs he loved so much, Nikki and Mac. Danny was a kind, gentle and giving person and will be so greatly missed. We would like to thank Kansas City Hospice House for the loving, compassionate care he received while there. . Graveside memorial services will be held at 1:30 PM, Thursday, November 12, 2009 at National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kansas. The family will greet friends from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday November 11, 2009 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel in Mound City.
