Dale Potter, age 89 of Prescott, Kansas formerly of Linn Valley, Kansas died Sunday December 27, 2009 at the Prescott Country View Nursing Home Prescott, Kansas. He was born on April 17, 1920 at Wichita, Kansas the son of George and Hada Finuf Potter. Dale worked for the Kansas Department of Grain Inspectors as a Scale Mechanic Grain Inspector; he married Ione Hanson George on November 6, 1982. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Osage City, Kansas, the National Grain Weighers Association, the VFW, and the American Legion; He also enjoyed woodworking, and stained glass. He was preceded by two sisters; Maxine Potter, and Dorothy Elliott. Survivors include his wife Ione of Pleasanton, Kansas, a son John Potter of Hutchison, Kansas, a daughter Michele Clarkson of Carlisle, Iowa, two step sons Richard and Tom George, a brother Jim Potter, a sister Nell Scheid, Seven grandchildren, five step grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and eight step great grandchildren. Dale was cremated and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date. The family suggests contributions to the Prescott Country View Nursing Home.
