Daisy Self

Daisy Pearl Self, 83, of Mound City, Kansas, died Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at her home. She was born March 29, 1928 in Goodrich, Kansas, the daughter of George and Julia Dinsmore Pearson. She married Earl Self on August 18, 1945 at Paola, Kansas. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2011. She was preceded in death also by her parents; a daughter, Barbara Morris; brothers, Leonard and George Pearson, Julian "Bud"Pearson, an infant brother, Charles Pearson and half brothers, Jerome Harris Pearson and Edwin Pearson; sisters, Marie, Evelyn, Virginia and Eunice Lois Pearson and half sisters, Eunice Lois Pearson and Effie Lea. Daisy enjoyed quilting, loved animals and enjoyed taking care of the kids. Survivors include two sons; Edward Self and Carmen of Mound City, Kansas and Charles Self and Diana of Parker, Kansas; one daughter, Mary Simpson and Gary of Mound City,Kansas; one brother, Kenneth Pearson, one sister, Olive Farrell; nine grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 30, 2011 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Mound City, Kansas. visitation will be from 6-7 PM, Friday at the Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to Southern Care Hospice c/o the funeral home. Interment will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery, Mound City, Kansas.
