Cora Rost

Cora Claudette Rost, 68, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Mercy Hospital, Fort Scott, Kansas. She was born September 15, 1940 in Pleasanton, Kansas, the daughter of Paul and Stella Lucille Ashley Harkness. She married William "Bill" Rost on February 23, 1958. He preceded her in death on March 5, 2006. Claudette was a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling as long as her health permitted and she was very active in her kids and grandkids activities. Also, she and Bill loved to go to the casinos. She was preceded in death also by her parents. Survivors include one son, William Rost & Kathy of Fort Scott, Kansas; three daughters, Brenda Shoopman & Sean of Mound City, Kansas, Tammy Herring & Jim of Pleasanton, Kansas and Connie Benham, also of Pleasanton, Kansas; one brother, Albert Harkness of Spring Hill, Kansas; two sisters, Connie Boyles and Genie Benham, both of Foster, Missouri, a half sister, Dorothy Jean Hayes of Prairie Grove, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Mrs. Rost was cremated. A graveside memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 8th at the Pleasanton Cemetery, Pleasanton, Kansas.
