Cora Foster

Cora Esther Foster, 78, of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Mercy Health Center, Fort Scott, Kansas. She was born October 20, 1933 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Wesley W. and Eula Gladys Doughtry Sanford. Cora worked as a nurse in the Kansas City area for a number of years. Cora loved her family and children. She enjoyed doing crafts, especially at Christmas and loved making candy and playing Bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John, Reece and Clarence Sanford and two sisters, Donna O'Brien and Nora Huckaby. Survivors include her companion, Bud Brown; one son, Larry Hank; three brothers, Wesley Sanford, James Sims and Gary Sims; two sisters, Gladys Naugle and Rosemary Post; two grandchildren; Andrea Stamp and Ashley Luxner, several adopted grandchildren, including Megan Zook and Tammy Flores; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the Schneider Funeral Home & Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Interment will be in the Prescott Cemetery.
