Colleen Suddock

Colleen K. Suddock, 70, of Mound City, Kansas passed away at her home on May 3, 2015. She was born on January 26, 1945 in Kansas City, Missouri to Lloyd E. and Bernadine L. (Cavinee) Cockran. She grew up in the Beagle and Parker, Kansas communities and graduated from Parker Rural High School in 1962. Following high school she attended Pittsburg State College. Colleen worked for Kansas City Power and Light Company for 28 years. She was a member of the KCPandL Quarter Century Club and the Parker Methodist Church. Colleen is survived by one sister, Debbie Nickelson and husband David of Mound City; two nephews, Chris Nickelson and wife Christy of Mound City, and Tom Nickelson and wife Lacy of Frontenac, Kansas; four great-nieces, Whitney Nickelson, Chloe Nickelson, Chalei Nickelson, and Cashlea Nickelson; and four great-nephews, Zach Nickelson, Dylan Nickelson, Carsen Nickelson, and Caden Nickelson. Colleen was preceded in death by her husband, Hunter R. Suddock, and her parents. Colleen was an outdoor person and enjoyed working in her yard and flowers. She was an avid bird watcher and could name them all. Colleen and Hunter loved to travel and had seen much of the United States. Colleen was true fan of all sporting events but especially loved to follow the Kansas Jayhawk basketball team. She enjoyed attending the sporting events and activities of her nephews and nieces. Colleen was a lover of all animals but especially loved her two cats who were like her children. A graveside service for Colleen will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Beagle Cemetery, Beagle, Kansas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. The family suggests memorials to Care to Share of Linn County, a non-profit cancer support organization. Contributions may be sent in care of Schneider Funeral Home, P.O.
