Cleda Mae Patterson, 92, of LaCygne, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at Willow Lane Nursing Home, Butler, Missouri. She was born February 26, 1913 on the family farm near LaCygne, Kansas, the only child of Charley and Laura Gooden Miller. Her grandparents had settled on this farm in 1870. She married Virgil Patterson on April 23, 1932 in Louisburg, Kansas. During their 36 years of marriage, they lived on the farm at Boicourt and Pleasanton, Kansas. He preceded her in death on June 21, 1968. Cleda was a member of the First Christian Church of Pleasanton, EHU, Grange, Mail Carriers Auxiliary, LaCygne Historical Society and Order of Eastern Star (LaCygne). She had served on the election board and was serving on the 96 Cemetery board. She is survived by two sons; Joe Patterson and wife, Norma of Springdale, Arkansas and Jim Patterson and wife, Judy of Pleasanton, Kansas; three grandsons; one granddaughter and four great grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 2, 2005 at the Calvary Baptist Church, LaCygne, Kansas. The family suggests contributions to the 96 Cemetery. Interment will be in 96 Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, Pleasanton, Kansas.
