Clarence Calvin

June 23, 1916 — May 16, 2008

Clarence "Guinie" Calvin, age 91, of LaCygne, Kansas died Friday May 16, 2008 at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri. He was born on June 23, 1916 the son of John and Edna Croghan Calvin. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He married Edna Sherman in March of 1951. She preceded him in death in August of 1991. He worked for Bendix as an x-ray operator retiring after thirty years of service. Also preceding him in death were three step siblings, Bill Stark, Deanna Adams, and Lois Lewis. He is survived by two sons, Larry Calvin of Raymore, Missouri and Gary Calvin of Liberty, Missouri, five step children, Ben Stark, Bob Stark, Nadine Dobbins, Janice Brewster, and Judy Lee, one sister Arneta Staves, five grandchildren, twenty-one step grandchildren three great grandchildren and numerous step great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday May 21, 2008 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in LaCygne, Kansas. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery at LaCygne. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 PM Tuesday May 20 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home in LaCygne. The family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Society in care of Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home. On line condolences for the family can be left at www.coffelschneider.com.
