Christine Ferguson

Christine Helen Ferguson, age 64, of Blue Mound, Kansas died Friday July 16, 2010 at her home. Christine was born April 7, 1946 at Kansas City, Kansas the daughter of Delmer H. and Lillian Vivian Girten Ferguson. She graduated from Argentine High School, Kansas City, Kansas and attended Hays Cosmetology School. After graduation, she worked as a cosmetologist in Kansas City. She later worked at Bay Vet Chemical Labs, Wal Mart, and as a school bus driver for Laid Law. Christine was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mound City, Kansas. She enjoyed raising horses, sewing, her home beauty shop, gardening, ceramics, cooking and traveling with her rodeo friends and family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Vivian. She is survived by her father, Delmer of LaCygne, Kansas; four sons: Joseph H. Macoubrie and Delmer Jesse Cox both of Blue Mound, John "Buck" Ortega of Shawnee, Kansas and Michael Ortego of Osawatomie, Kansas; one sister Darlene Ferguson Cox and husband Wayne and one brother Henry Ferguson and wife Sally. A special thank you goes to Helen Sue Aggers, Cathy Aurand, Amanda Herman, members of the Federated Church of Blue Mound who prepared food and gave spiritual encouragement, and area rodeo families and friends and neighbors. Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Monday July 19, 2010 at Sacred Heart Church in Mound City. A rosary will be recited at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in Curry Cemetery near Mound City.
