Charlie Earl Coon, 88, of Mound City, KS, died Friday, December 2, 2005 at the Louisburg Care Center, Louisburg, KS. He was born June 28, 1917 at Mound City the son of Edwin F. and Elsie M. Craft Coon. He worked at Boeing for 6 years before farming for the rest of his working days. He married Vivian Johnson on April 28, 1940 at Mound City. He was a Marine Corp veteran of World War II. His memberships include: Mound City United Methodist Church, American Legion Hewitt New Post and Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Coon. He is survived by his wife, Vivian of the home; two daughters, Anna Mae Ball and husband, Robert of Duncanville, Texas and Nancy Nadine Stewart and husband, Stan of LaCygne, KS, three grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Charlie had a philosophy that anything worth doing was worth doing well. He believed in working his ground well for it to produce to the fullest; taking care of his livestock and feeding them well for them to produce well. Services were held at 11:00 AM, Monday, December 5, 2005 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Mound City, KS. Burial in Woodland Cemetery, Mound City.
