Charles Pettijohn

Charles Ralph Pettijohn, age 77, Blue Mound, Kansas died Friday February 24, 2012 at Mercy Health Center in Fort Scott. He was born on April 5, 1934 at Kansas City, Kansas the son of Ralph and Hycinthia Tebbe Pettijohn. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School where he was very active in the FFA program. Charles married Virginia Zacher at St. Agnes Catholic Church on August 18, 1956. Charles was member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mound City, Kansas and was active with his family in FFA and 4H. He is survived by his wife Virginia, of the home, one son, Charles "Chuck" Pettijohn Jr. and wife Julie of Olpe, Kansas, three daughters, Deanna Wade and husband David of Mapleton, Kansas, Charlene Sheppard and husband Todd of Olsburg, Kansas and Jennifer Young and husband Joe of Westphalia, Kansas, one sister Carol Jean Seba of Cleveland, Missouri and seven grandsons. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Tuesday February 28, 2012 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mound City. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Paola, Kansas. Rosary will be prayed at 5 PM Monday at the Schneider Funeral Home, Mound City Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 PM following the rosary.
