Bryan Shaughnessy

January 1, 1922 — March 20, 2013

Bryan Daniel "Pat" Shaughnessy, formerly of Mount Ida, Arkansas and Mound City, Kansas passed away quietly on March 20, 2013 at his home. He was a WWII veteran, having served in the Engineers Div. 87 of the United States Army. He and wife Katherine Leslie had resided at Vintage Park Louisburg for the last two years. Bryan was born on January 1, 1922 in Omak, Washington. He and Katherine lived in Mount Ida, Arkansas for many years and then moved to Mound City in 1995 to be closer to family. Bryan was preceded in death by his parents Simon and Edna, two brothers and a sister, and two sons Harry "Skip" Shaughnessy and John Bedgood. He is survived by wife Katherine Leslie Shaughnessy, sons Jerry Bedgood, and wife Sharon of Mound City. Joe Bedgood and wife Robyn in Arizona, Mike Shaughnessy and wife Hayley in Florida, and two daughters Cindy Meyer and husband Gary of Olathe, Kansas, and Shayna Lamb and husband David of Mound City. He and Katherine were blessed with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also leaves four other daughters Judy, Kathy, Patsy and Paula. Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday March 27, 2013 at the Mound City Christian Church. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday March 26, 2013 at the Schneider Funeral Homes and Crematory Mound City Chapel. Burial will be in the Louisburg Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the Mound City Concern or Vintage Park of Louisburg, and may be left in c/o the Schneider Funeral Homes and Crematory PO box J Mound City, Kansas 66056.
