Bruce Andrew Clancy, 68, tranquilly passed away October 30, 2021 after fiercely fighting an unexpected turn to his health
He was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada on July 31, 1953.
Bruce was the beloved husband and best friend of his one and only love of 34 years, Kim Clancy. They were married on August 29, 1987 and together shared the love of family and many noteworthy journeys on his Harley Davidson motorcycle they both loved to travel on. The experience and sights were many and the passion was shared for numerous special expeditions. Their love of riding generated new groups of friends and invited extended family to join together for trips that proved to be memorable and cherished.
Bruce worked as a Power Lineman for 48 years in Canada, Florida and California before retiring and moving to Linn Valley, Kansas. He worked hard to provide for his family from the start of his career. Once retired, he saw the opportunity to spend quality time with his daughters who he always cherished. Lindsay and her husband Mitchel and their two children Cade and Emery as well as Jade and her boyfriend Shawn were Bruce’s gifts in his life. He looked forward to dinners, laughs and treasured time on the lake in the boat with all of them. His heart was bursting with the love for his sweet grandchildren. Bruce was an amazing Papa to Cade and Emery. There was no doubt they felt the same about him when you could hear squeals of delight calling out his name as they came through the door bringing him so much joy. He loved the camaraderie of the girls significant others and was proud of the amazing men his daughters chose.
Bruce was affectionately known as “Lake Dad“. He was a lover of Harley Davidson‘s, golf, lottery and competing in Lineman’s rodeos which he won the senior division at the International Lineman’s Rodeo twice. He admired and adored all his nieces and nephews and tenderly encouraged them with kind words of wisdom, gently guided them on their life path.
We will always remember how he powerfully loved us. His fierce loyalty of family and friends, his one raised eyebrow and his chuckle. He had a perfectly organized garage and amazing domestic skills. His guiding hands, his family pride and his wisdom to teach were part of Bruce’s endearing qualities.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife Kim Clancy, two devoted daughters - Lindsay Hammons and husband Mitchel and their two children Cade and Emery, Jade Clancy and Shawn Ward, Mother Louise Griffin , Siblings Connie Hurlburt and husband Dean, Norma Oppenlander, Diane Rodomsky and husband Barry, Terry Millar and wife Brenda.
