Bonita Smith

Bonita Mae (Bonnie) Spears Smith Bonita Mae (Bonnie) Spears Smith 82, of LaCygne, KS, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Kansas City Hospice House. Bonnie was born May 9, 1928 in Johnstown, Missouri, the daughter of Rollie Newton and Mamie Lillian West Spears. On September 20, 1947, she married Edgar Paul (Bud) Smith in Olathe, Kansas. Bonnie was a homemaker and an avid reader. She enjoyed working puzzles, visiting with family and always enjoyed a good laugh. Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, Marvel Boling and Lucille Mallott, and her three brothers, Rollie, Jr., William and A.B. Spears. Bonnie is survived by her husband, Bud, of the home, her son, Robert Smith, of Oklahoma City, OK, and three grandchildren, Dalton, Zachary, and Alyssa Smith. She is also survived by her brother, Warren, and companion, Mary Lou, Kansas City, Kansas and four sisters-in-law, Nora Spears, Butler, MO, Marquerite Smith Tribby, Portland, OR, Mildred Smith Fannan (Jim), and Margaret Smith Goddard (Walter), Harrisonville, MO and a multitude of nieces and nephews. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, January 7, 2011 at LaCygne Community Building in LaCygne, Kansas. Private burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery, LaCygne, Kansas. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
