Bill Mcdowell

Enos William "Bill" McDowell, 82, of Marshfield, Missouri, died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Cox Memorial Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. He was born October 30, 1928 in Linn County, Kansas, the son of Charles and Alta Ruth Stark. Bill was a veteran, having served with the United States Marine Corps. Prior to retirement, Bill worked as a sheet metal worker and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union. He enjoyed gardening, especially roses and raising vegetables. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Bob McDowell. Survivors include his wife, Helen (Hergenreder) McDowell of Marshfield, Missouri; two sons, Keith McDowell of Chandler, Arizona and Kevin McDowell of Olathe, Kansas; one daughter, Lynne Hallier of Havensville, Kansas; a stepson, Craig Bridgforth; one brother, Bud McDowell; two sisters, Esther Morgan and Cheryl Steiner; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Coffel-Schneider Chapel, Pleasanton, Kansas. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bill McDowell Memorial. Interment will be in the Prairie Home Cemetery, LaCygne, Kansas.
