Betty Miller

Betty L. Miller age 82 of Louisburg, Kansas died Wednesday October 3, 2012 at the Olathe Medical Center. She was born on December 9, 1929 in Axtell, Kansas the daughter of Henry and Cora Stueve Deters. She married Ernest Franklin Miller in Axtell, Kansas on April 15, 1950. He preceded her in death on September 12, 1994. Also preceding her were two brothers, Donald Deters and Adrian Deters, and four sisters: Anna Marie Bishop, Dorothy Broxterman, Mary Clair Quaney and Patricia Durkes. Betty was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the Altar Society, Louisburg, Kansas. While living in Linn Valley, Kansas she attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. She retired as a civilian from the United States Marine Corp working in accounting and finance. She was also a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, Lanky Corner Ladies Group, Linn Valley Lunch Bunch, Carriage Club, and volunteered delivering meals on wheels. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and knitting, camping, gardening, making the best pies ever, and attending the grandchildren''s activities. She is survived by four daughters: Jeanette Smotherman of Louisburg, Kansas, Roxanne Casaert and Lonny,of Edgerton,Kansas, Valerie Gerken and Kelly of Paola, Kansas and Shannon Nash and Clayton of La Cygne, Kansas, four brothers: John, Francis, Charles, and William Deters, two sisters: Kathleen Miller, and Marjorie Bergmann, twelve grand and thirteen great grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM Monday, October 8, 2012 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Louisburg, Kansas. Burial will be in the St. Mary''s Cemetery. Rosary will be said at 2 PM Sunday, October 7 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, LaCygne Chapel followed by visitation until 4 PM.
