Betty Karle

Betty Ruth James Karle Betty Ruth James Karle, age 76, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008 in Mena, Arkansas. She was born in Pleasanton, Kansas on June 22, 1931 the daughter of Milton P. James and Christina M. Brown James. She was united in marriage to Henry J. Karle on October 18, 1952. He preceded her in death in January 10, 2008. She graduated from the University Of Kansas School Of Nursing in 1953. She was a lover of history and one of her accomplishments was to co-author a book on her brother's WWII bomb group the 464th which was published in 2002. She is survived by her five children- son, Mark and Deanna Karle of Topeka, Kansas, son, Tim and Joyce Karle of Jefferson City, Missouri, daughter, Connie Daniels of Olathe, Kansas, daughter, Jeanie Karle of Mena, Arkansas, son, John and Keri Karle of Columbia, Missouri; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 2:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Pleasanton, Kansas. Burial will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until service at the church. The family suggests contributions to the First Presbyterian Church in care of the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home.
