Betty Louise Johnson, 82, of Kansas City, Kansas, formerly of Pleasanton, Kansas, died Saturday, June 9, 2012 at her home. She was born September 3, 1929 in Pleasanton, Kansas, the daughter of William L. and Noma E. Gilmore Umphenour. Betty graduated from Pleasanton High School in 1946. Betty worked for Lock Tite/ Perma Tex prior to her retirement. She was a member of the Laborers Union Local #42. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lee and Eugene Umphenou; two sisters, Marjorie Black and Ella Holsman and a great granddaughter, Destiny. Survivors include two sons; Bill Johnson and Terry Johnson; two daughters; Willetta Johnson and Susan Johnson; one sister, Mildred Perkins; nine grandchildren; twenty nine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at the Schneider Funeral Home & Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time at the chapel. Contributions are suggested to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Interment will be in the Pleasanton Cemetery.
