Bertha G. Cook, 76, of Butler, MO, formerly of Amsterdam, Mo, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2005 at the Willow Lane Nursing Center, Butler. She was born January 1, 1929 near Adrian, MO, the daughter of Grover and Olive Elliott Abnot. She married Junior Edwin Cook on June 25, 1951 at Amsterdam, MO. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1981. In addition to being a wife & mother, she worked on the assembly line for Bass Busters in Amsterdam, MO. She also attended the Amsterdam Baptist Church. She is survived by 2 sons; Michael Cook of Dallas, TX & Dennis Cook & wife, Shannon of Clinton, MO; 2 daughters, Susan Jackson & husband, Irl of Amsterdam, MO and Belinda Wiltshire & husband, Guy of Dallas, TX; one brother, Kenneth Abnot of Harrisonville, MO; 4 sisters, Helen Cox of Lacygne, KS, Anna Lee Cummins of Amoret, MO, Norma Hoover of Deer Trail, Colorado and Jessie Stiemel of Evergreen, Colorado; 17 Grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren and 7 step great grandchildren. She was preceded also by 3 sons; Ronald Cook who died in infancy, Wade Cook on December 10, 1988 and Edwin Cook, 2 sisters Mabel Murray & Gertrude Comer and a niece, Glenna Murray. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 15, 2005 at the Coffel-Schneider Funeral Home, LaCygne, KS. Visitation is one hour prior to service time. Contributions are suggested to American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association. Burial will be in Louisburg Cemetery, Louisburg, KS.
